I’m Dr. Dolores Baran, and I’m proud to provide comprehensive dental care to the wonderful community of Royal Oak and the surrounding areas. Originally from Sterling Heights, I’ve always had deep roots in Southeast Michigan. My path into dentistry began at Wayne State University, where I pursued undergraduate studies in the sciences. With a strong academic foundation and passion for helping others, I was accepted into dental school after just three years.

I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Michigan in 1988, and I’ve been in private practice ever since. With more than 35 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of treating patients across four generations—an honor that reflects the trust and long-standing relationships we’ve built over time.

At my practice, Royal Oak Smiles, our mission is simple: to provide every patient with personalized, honest, and compassionate dental care. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, I take the time to understand your needs, explain your options, and make sure you feel comfortable every step of the way. From preventive cleanings to cosmetic and restorative dentistry, our team is here to help you achieve a healthy, confident smile for life.

I’m passionate about continuing education and always staying current with the latest advancements in dental technology, techniques, and patient care. My goal is to blend modern dentistry with a genuine, relationship-based approach—because I believe that excellent dental care starts with trust and communication.

Outside of the office, I cherish spending time with my husband, Mark, and our two daughters. We enjoy fishing, hiking, and making memories outdoors with family and friends. These moments keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of creating a positive, lasting impact in people’s lives—both in and out of the dental chair.
